After 20 years as an actor in New York City Steven began a new journey into the inner landscapes of the body-mind connection. It began with meeting and falling in love with his wife and partner Celina. Shortly after, he found himself at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, a renowned yoga institute in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. It was there that Steven continued his exploration between the physical body and the spirit. While immersing himself in the practice and philosophy of yoga, he had his first foray into the realm of healing with hands by beginning his training in Thai Yoga Massage. It is there that he met his respected teacher Kam Thye Chow, who is influential in bringing Thai Yoga Massage to the west. It was through Thai Yoga Massage that Steven discovered the potential that comes with serving others with Loving-kindness. Steven later continued training with Kam Thye Chow at the Lotus Palm School in Montreal, Canada, where he received his certification.
In the years that followed Steven and Celina opened CoreZone, their first wellness center, in New York City. Their vision for CoreZone was to create a community where health and a positive lifestyle would be at its core. After 6 years CoreZone had 12 teachers and 5 massage therapists. It offered an array of services that included Hatha and Kundalini yoga, Pilates, Gyrotonic, and massage modalities that included Thai, Swedish, Trager, and Craniosacral.
Most recently Celina and Steven decided to leave New York and find an open community with the quality of life that would allow them to start a family with a feeling of security and happiness. But first they returned to Kripalu, where Steven expanded his massage training by studying at the Kripalu School of Massage, where he received his second certification.
Now, in Ashland, Oregon, Steven and Celina are excited to serve the community by continuing their vision of service, loving-kindness, and the promotion of a healthy positive lifestyle.
